JAN/1997/Page-A

I don't know why but the first image that came to my mind in 1997 was something like this..... it wasn't a dream but I cannot guarantee its actuality. It was an image that somehow came to me. Many problems are being solved, naturally, as if a miracle was happening and with no personal effort. For example, a scene on the Seine, a young couple with many problems. Suddenly, an English elderly gentleman hands them a check of very high value. (The point wouldn't have changed if the setting was the Chao Phraya or the Mississippi) An image where a computer that had freezing problems because of the environment of Excel and Lotus, suddenly recovered and was working well. A young man is looking at the navy blue Indian see and is thinking about the lasts of his life; suddenly, an underwater eruption, and a new paradise island appears. In subconsciousness, I might be dependent on others?

My mother will be 83 this year. She cooked us "Osechi Ryori." (Osechi is a traditional food that is eaten during the New Years in Japan) My daughter and I love the sweet and yellow "datemaki (baked egg)." But my wife doesn't seem to enjoy it, so we never have to fight.

Have you ever eaten Omochi (rice cake)? Japanese Rice? It's made from pounding, with an enormous hammer-like gadget, a type of rice called Mochigome. Then, a soft and chewy Omochi is finished. You may not believe it, but during New Years in Japan, there are several adults who die from choking on Omochi. At a New Years party in the neighborhood.
